Employees’ green guide
Stageline Group and the environment
![]() | Protecting the environment has always been a major concern at our firm. The construction in 2007 of a high-performance energy-efficient plant, LEED® certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and using the latest environmental technologies (geothermics, passive solar energy…) is at once a symbol and a concrete manifestation of that commitment. As employees of Stageline Group, you have the opportunity to work in an industrial building the likes of which you will rarely see in Quebec or in Canada. Here then are some guidelines to follow: |
Recycling: it’s everyone’s business, at home and at work.
![]() | As part of the green philosophy adopted by Stageline Group in 2007, a plan to manage waste at the workplace was established in the Group’s two plants. That plan includes recycling paper, cardboard, newspapers, plastic, glass, metal, and milk and juice cartons. Clearly identified recycling bins can be found in all the buildings. Please take note of the following sign system: |
1) Signs for administrative buildings (cafeterias, kitchenettes and lunchrooms)

2) Signs for bottles and cans in the plant and near vending machines
![]() | For the recycling of soft-drink, juice and water bottles and cans, recycling boxes have been installed close to drink vending machines, located in different areas of the plant. Follow the poster! |
3) General cleanliness of the premises
To preserve the quality of your workplace and to present our customers, suppliers and the general public with industrial buildings that reflect our environmental ambitions, we ask you to use the garbage cans and recycling containers provided for you on the Group’s two production sites.
4) Vending machines
Again as part of the green philosophy adopted by Stageline Group in 2007, we adjusted the content of our vending machines to offer you more wholesome products. The choices, in refreshing drinks and in snacks, tend towards products with a “health” character. In that light, if you find that the coffee tastes “funny,” it’s not for nothing – it’s because we use certified organic and fair-trade coffee in all our machines!
5) Cigarettes
- Smoking inside buildings (plant and administrative) is strictly forbidden.
- The LEED® environmental certification, which regulates the building at 827 boulevard de L’Ange-Gardien, prohibits smoking in a radius of 7.50 meters from any door, window or vent anywhere in the building. A “smoking” zone will be set up outside that perimeter.
- It is forbidden to throw cigarette butts on the ground. There are ashtrays at your disposal; please use them.
Remember: a cigarette butt takes between 5 and 10 years to decompose. Way better to get rid of it in an ashtray!
6) Carpooling
Employees interested in carpooling will be invited to submit the details of their travel needs (days, times, departure points, etc.). A list will be drawn up and posted in the various common areas of the Group’s buildings and e-mailed to the different departments.
Also, the green committee, the coordinator of the program, will do some research with carpooling organizations operating out of Montreal and the surrounding area in order to offer other transportation alternatives:
- Allo-Stop
- Amigo Express
- Covoiturage Montréal
The advantages of carpooling:
- savings in gasoline;
- reduction in the vehicle’s wear and tear and kilometrage;
- reduced stress and fatigue and therefore less chance of an accident;
- reduction in parking congestion;
- improvement in interpersonal relations, closer acquaintance with colleagues at work;
- reduction in the impact of travel on the environment.
Parking
Users of this system will benefit from reserved parking spots located near accesses to the building. Follow the signs!
