Stageline and Lumenous Edge deliver a four-day solution for Jackson State University 

When the game must go on

“When critical event technology goes down just days before a major game, there is no room for delay. There is only one question: how quickly can the right partners come together to find a solution? 

For Jackson State University, the answer came in the form of a four-day mobilization involving Lumenous Edge and Stageline. 

When the university’s primary video board experienced an unexpected failure just days before its upcoming Division I football game, Lumenous Edge — an Iowa-based LED display solutions provider and a trusted Jackson State supplier — moved quickly to identify an alternative that could maintain the quality of the game-day experience.

The solution: a Stageline SP100 LED Screen Trailer, deployed from Stageline’s rental fleet. 

The challenge? Getting it fully operational at the stadium in time for Saturday’s game — just four days after the request. 

Challenge accepted. Four days. One objective. 

The urgency was clear. Jackson State’s football program was preparing for its September 19 home game against Georgia Southern. The video screen is an integral part of the modern game-day experience, supporting everything from fan engagement and entertainment to sponsor visibility and in-stadium communications. 

Lumenous Edge already had the relationship with Jackson State University. What it needed was a trusted technology partner with the right equipment, availability and ability to respond immediately. 

That is where Stageline came in. The SP100 is part of Stageline’s mobile LED screen portfolio and rental fleet. Designed to provide a large-format, highly visible LED display solution in a mobile platform, the SP100 can deploy where and when it is needed — without requiring a permanent installation.

Rather than simply supplying equipment, the two companies immediately began coordinating around the real challenge: making the solution happen within an exceptionally compressed timeline.

A rapid mobilization

The SP100 left Stageline’s rental fleet Tuesday, September 15 and reached the Jackson State site Friday at approximately 2 p.m. CST — less than 72 hours after leaving Stageline. 

Behind that movement is a network of people coordinating logistics, transportation,  scheduling, equipment readiness and on-site execution.

It is exactly the kind of situation where a partnership is measured not by what is possible under normal circumstances, but by what can be accomplished when circumstances are anything but normal. Once the unit arrived, the Lumenous Edge team moved quickly into installation.

From trailer to operating display

Once the SP100 arrived Friday afternoon, the Lumenous Edge team installed the rigging bar, LED cabinets and raised the screen into position. 

The resulting display measured 22′-0″ wide by 12′-7″ high, using a 7-by-4 matrix of 10.00 mm outdoor-rated LED cabinets. 

Lumenous Edge used fixed-install cabinets in an effort to potentially repurpose the panels for the future stadium replacement, helping support Digital Scoreboards’ efforts to win that broader opportunity together.

Saturday morning, the team wired power and data, tested the signal and completed the final technical work. 

By 12 p.m. Saturday, the display was up and running and ready for the Saturday night game. 

In total, the solution went from an urgent request to an operational display in just four days. 

When the timeline is the challenge

In live entertainment and sports, there are moments when everything depends on the ability to respond. 

A technology failure doesn’t move the game date. 

The fans are still coming. The players are still taking the field. The sponsors still need visibility. The entertainment still has to happen.
