A resounding U.S Debut for hyrig at Boston Calling 2025

We are incredibly proud to reflect on our recent collaboration with Boston Calling 2025, one of North America’s most dynamic music festivals.

From May 23rd to 25th, the festival truly elevated the live music experience, and we were thrilled to be a pivotal part of their production success. As a world leader in mobile stage technology, Stageline is committed to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, and Boston Calling provided the perfect platform for the highly anticipated U.S. debut of our HyRig LED screen support system. 

The demands of large-scale music festivals are constantly evolving. HYRIG TAKES CENTER STAGE: A GAME-CHANGER FOR LED DISPLAYS 

The cornerstone of our deployment at Boston Calling 2025 was the groundbreaking U.S. debut of our HyRig system. While HyRig made its initial pre-launch appearance in our home province of Quebec in 2024, Boston Calling marked its first official deployment south of the border. This hydraulic LED screen support structure is a true game-changer for large-format video displays at outdoor events. We engineered HyRig to provide unmatched load capacity, superior wind resistance, and rapid deployment, ensuring that Boston Calling’s stunning visual elements were not only secure but also seamlessly integrated into the show flow. 

Let’s delve into what makes HyRig a leap forward in event technology: 

• Purpose: Designed to support massive LED screens, intricate lighting plots, and powerful line array speaker systems, HyRig is the backbone for today’s immersive festival experiences. 

• Rigging Capacity: Its impressive strength is evident in its capacity. Per tower, HyRig can handle up to 30,000 lbs (13,600 kg). 

• Screen Size: Adjustable up to 30’ x 57′ (9m x 17m) per unit, HyRig ensures optimal visibility for even the largest LED walls, captivating audiences from every vantage point. 

• Footprint: We optimized HyRig for efficiency. Its minimal footprint is ideal for tight stage wings and the high-traffic environments of major festivals. 

• Wind Resistance: Safety is paramount. HyRig is rigorously engineered for high-wind environments, maintaining stability and security. It boasts a wind resistance of 77 mph (125 km/h) even with screens installed, ensuring reliable performance in challenging conditions. 

• Hydraulic Deployment: Time is critical at festivals. HyRig features fast setup times thanks to its hydraulic lifting systems, streamlining the production process. A four-person team can achieve full deployment in just four hours, getting your event ready quickly and efficiently. 

OUR FLAGSHIP STAGES: THE SAM750 AND SAM575 IN ACTION 

Beyond the HyRig, our proven mobile stages formed the backbone of Boston Calling’s performance areas. The festival’s main performances unfolded on our Stageline SAM750, the world’s largest mobile stage. It offers an unparalleled performance space and unprecedented rigging capacity, empowering artists to realize their most ambitious visions. 

For the Boston Calling main stage, the visual demands were significant, and the SAM750, combined with the HyRig, rose to the challenge: 

• Screen Size Per Side: The stage supported immense LED screens, each measuring 60ft wide x 49ft tall. 

• Total Screen Weight: A remarkable 38,200 lbs was rigged specifically for the LED screen on each side, with this weight strategically split between the SAM750’s fly bay and the HyRig system. 

• HyRig Load: A substantial 21,200 lbs was carried by each HyRig unit. 

• SAM750 Roof Load: In total, the SAM750 roof itself successfully held an astounding 80,000 lbs of production elements.

Rounding out the stage lineup was our SL100, a versatile and compact mobile stage that provided an ideal platform for additional performances and activations throughout the festival grounds.

Our in-house technical staff were on-site at Boston Calling 2025, working diligently to ensure full production safety, efficiency, and excellence across all our mobile stage deployments. Working directly with Boston Calling’s production team, we customized the stage layout, notably adapting the height of the SAM750’s wings to facilitate the integration of a turntable for faster set changes and improved show flow. This exemplifies Stageline’s unique ability to adapt our mobile solutions to creative demands, always aiming to enhance the overall festival experience.
